Affordable Mobiles - frequently asked questions
Here we answer the questions people ask most often about Affordable Mobiles - from voucher codes to credit checks, upgrades and refurbished phones.
How do I use an Affordable Mobiles voucher code?
Choose your phone, plan or accessory and go to the checkout. If a code field is shown, enter the voucher code there before you complete the order and check that the discount is applied.
Is there a credit check on contract phones?
Yes. Contract orders go through credit and security checks before they are approved. A SIM-free phone bought outright is an option if you would rather avoid a contract.
Can I upgrade my phone through Affordable Mobiles?
Yes. Affordable Mobiles handles network upgrades, so an existing customer on a supported network can move to a new handset through the site. Check the upgrade options for your network before you order.
Do refurbished phones come with a warranty?
Yes. Refurbished handsets sold by Affordable Mobiles are covered by a warranty, which gives some reassurance if you are choosing a used phone rather than a brand new one.
Tips for using a Affordable Mobiles voucher code
Enter your Affordable Mobiles voucher code at the checkout before you place the order, and look at the summary to confirm the reduction has been applied. Read the code's terms first, because an offer may cover only accessories, particular handsets or certain networks, and a code generally cannot be added once the order has gone through.
How to save at Affordable Mobiles
An Affordable Mobiles voucher code is the simplest way to cut the cost of an order. Some contracts come with cashback, so compare that against the monthly price over the full term. If your current phone still works well, a SIM-only plan avoids paying for a new handset, and a refurbished phone is an alternative to buying new. The special offers page gathers the current phone and SIM deals in one place.
Delivery
Delivery is free on every order. Phones are sent with DPD Next Day seven days a week, with a one-hour slot between 7:30am and 7:30pm, and a signature is needed. SIM-only orders go by Whistl or Royal Mail 48, and remote postcodes are served by Royal Mail Special Delivery. Orders go to your registered home address only, in mainland UK and Northern Ireland, but not the Channel Islands.
Returns and cancellation rights
You have 14 days to return an order. The phone must be in pristine condition, factory reset and sent back in its original box with all accessories, and you start the return through the contact form. If the order had not shipped, the refund arrives within 5 working days, otherwise within 14 days of cancelling. Refunds of network charges can take up to 28 days.
More about Affordable Mobiles
Affordable Mobiles is part of the AO family of retailers. The business trades as Affordable Mobiles Limited, is based in Bolton in England, and has its orders fulfilled by AO Retail Ltd. Its range is built around the main ways of getting a phone in the UK: a handset on a network contract, a SIM-only plan for a phone you already own, or a SIM-free handset bought outright, whether new or refurbished. Alongside the phones it sells everyday accessories such as chargers, cases, headphones and screen protectors, plus smartwatches.
