Privacy policy
This privacy policy explains how DiscountList collects, uses and protects information about you as a visitor. We take your privacy seriously.
Definitions
In this policy, "DiscountList", "we", "us" and "our" mean the website discountlist.co.uk together with the company responsible for it, Riror AB (Swedish company reg. no. 559281-9758).
What information do we collect?
We only collect personal data that you actively choose to give us - alongside anonymous visitor statistics that involve no cookies and no personal data, and the technical data needed to deliver the site and to protect the contact form against spam. The last two are described under Technical data below.
Information you give us
If you contact us, we keep the details you provide so we can answer you. Through the contact form that is your name, email address, chosen subject and your message; by email it is your email address and whatever you choose to write. We never keep more information than we need. See Contact form and Email below for how the two routes are handled.
We intend to offer a newsletter in future. It is not running yet, so there is nothing to sign up to and no subscriber data is being collected. The section below sets out what will apply once it launches.
Technical data
DiscountList does not store technical data such as IP addresses itself. The site is delivered via Cloudflare, which processes your IP address in order to send the pages to you - a technical precondition for all web traffic, not something used to track you between visits. Our visitor statistics are handled by Simple Analytics, which collects aggregated, anonymised statistics without setting cookies or storing IP addresses. The statistics are designed so that they cannot be linked to an individual visitor.
On our contact page, Formspree and Cloudflare Turnstile additionally process your IP address as part of receiving your message and blocking spam. See Contact form below.
Cookies and local storage
DiscountList uses one strictly necessary first-party cookie to remember your cookie choice. Favourites and your theme preference are kept in your browser's local storage, and only once you have consented to functional cookies. No data is sent to our servers, and everything is deleted if you withdraw consent. On our contact page, Cloudflare Turnstile may additionally store technical data in your browser as part of the spam protection - see Contact form.
Strictly necessary
So the cookie banner can work at all, we store the following necessary cookie:
| Name | Type | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| dl-v1-cookie-consent | First party | Stores your cookie choice | Up to 365 days |
Functional
If you accept functional cookies, you can save favourites and a theme preference (light, dark or system) in your browser via local storage. That data stays on your device, is never sent to us, and is deleted if you turn functional cookies off. You can change your choice at any time through .
Analytics
We use Simple Analytics for anonymised visitor statistics. Simple Analytics sets no cookies and stores no IP addresses or other information that identifies you. Because nothing is stored on or read from your device, the cookie rules in the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) do not apply, and the statistics are collected on the basis of our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used.
Third-party cookies
When you click an affiliate link and visit a retailer's website, that retailer and its affiliate network may set cookies in your browser. These cookies record that the visit came via DiscountList and can last 30 days or longer, depending on the retailer's own policy. They are not controlled by us.
Examples of affiliate networks whose cookies may be set:
- Awin
- Rakuten Advertising
- Tradedoubler
- CJ (Commission Junction)
Managing cookies
You can manage and delete cookies through your browser settings. You can also change your consent at any time through in the footer or here on this page. Note that blocking third-party cookies may affect how other websites you reach through our links behave.
Contact form
There is a contact form on our contact page. If you choose to send us a message, the following applies:
- We process the details you fill in: your name, email address, chosen subject and your message. They are used only to answer your enquiry.
- The form is handled by Formspree, a form service based in the USA. Formspree receives your message, stores it and forwards it to us, and acts as our processor. Because the service is operated from the USA, this involves a restricted transfer of your data to a third country outside the UK. See Formspree's privacy policy for more information.
- The form is protected against automated spam by Cloudflare Turnstile. Turnstile runs in your browser on the contact page and processes your IP address and technical data about your browser to decide whether the message is being sent by a person or by a program. The check is used only for that purpose - not for marketing, profiling or cross-site tracking - and may store technical data in your browser while the verification is carried out. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
- Your message is kept for as long as we need it to deal with your enquiry, and for a reasonable period afterwards so that we can follow it up.
You can also contact us directly at kontakt@riror.se. If you do, the following applies:
- We process your email address, your name if you give it, and the content of your message, including any attachments, so that we can answer your enquiry.
- Email does not go through the contact form's providers: neither Formspree nor Cloudflare Turnstile is involved. Your message is received by our email provider and lands in our inbox.
- Email is not encrypted end to end between sender and recipient, so please avoid sending sensitive personal data by email - get in touch first if your matter requires it.
- Your message is kept for as long as we need it to deal with your enquiry, and for a reasonable period afterwards so that we can follow it up.
Newsletter
DiscountList plans to offer a newsletter. It is not live yet, so nothing below is happening today - this section describes what will apply once you are able to subscribe:
- Your email address, together with the time of sign-up and the IP address used, will be stored as a record of consent.
- Email delivery will be handled by Brevo (formerly Sendinblue), an email service based in France with servers in the EU. Brevo will act as our processor under a data processing agreement (DPA). The UK recognises the EEA as providing an adequate level of protection, so no additional transfer safeguards are required for this. See Brevo's data processing agreement for more information.
- The newsletter may contain tracking pixels and tracked links that record whether you open a message or click a link. That information will be used to improve the content and will be linked to your email address.
- Your details will be kept for as long as you are subscribed. If you unsubscribe, they will be deleted within a reasonable period.
- You will be able to unsubscribe at any time via a link in every email.
How do we use the information?
- To answer you if you contact us.
- To send the newsletter, once it launches and if you have chosen to subscribe.
- We never sell personal data to third parties.
- We share personal data only with the processors we need in order to run the service - Formspree for the contact form, Cloudflare for delivering the site and for spam protection, our email provider for email you send us, and Brevo for the newsletter once it launches - or where the law requires it. A processor may only process the data for our purpose and on our instructions.
Lawful basis
We process personal data on the following lawful bases:
- Consent: your cookie choice is only stored once you actively make it. Functional cookies and local storage are used only if you have consented. The newsletter, once live, will only be sent to people who have actively opted in, and you will be able to unsubscribe at any time via a link in every email.
- Legitimate interests: if you contact us through the contact form or by email, we process your details so that we can reply. We also have a legitimate interest in protecting the form against automated spam, which is the basis for the Turnstile check, and in running the site technically.
Our visitor statistics via Simple Analytics are collected in anonymised, aggregated form on the basis of our legitimate interest in understanding and improving how the site is used. No cookies are set and no IP addresses are stored.

Under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 you have the following rights. Because Riror AB is established in the EU, the EU GDPR applies to our processing as well, and it gives you equivalent rights.
