Gardening Direct - frequently asked questions
Here we answer the questions people ask most often about Gardening Direct - from voucher codes to plug plant sizes and getting gardening advice.
How do I use a Gardening Direct voucher code?
Add your plants to the basket and go to the checkout. Enter the voucher code in the code field before you pay, then check that the discount has been taken off the order total.
What sizes of plug plant does Gardening Direct sell?
Plug plants are offered in several sizes, named Pro, Pro+, Jumbo and Garden Ready. The available sizes are shown on each product page, so compare them before adding plants to your basket.
Does Gardening Direct offer gardening advice?
Yes. Its blog, Gardeners' Corner, publishes articles on growing and caring for plants, which can help you plan what to order and look after it once it arrives.
Can I contact Gardening Direct by phone?
Yes. Gardening Direct runs a phone support line from Monday to Saturday, which is useful if you have a question about an order or about a plant before you buy.
Tips for using a Gardening Direct voucher code
Enter your Gardening Direct voucher code at the checkout before you confirm payment, and look at the order summary to make sure the reduction has gone through. Read the terms of the code first, because an offer may need a minimum spend or leave out certain plants, and a code usually cannot be added once the order is placed.
How to save at Gardening Direct
A Gardening Direct voucher code is the most direct way to cut the cost of an order. Standard delivery costs £4.99 but is free once your order passes £49.99, so grouping bulbs, bedding and shrubs into one larger order rather than several small ones saves paying for delivery each time. Planning your planting for the season ahead makes it easier to combine everything into a single order.
Delivery
Standard delivery costs £4.99 and is free on orders over £49.99. Most orders travel tracked with Yodel, while small orders may go by untracked Royal Mail. Orders are usually dispatched within 7-10 working days and left in a safe place without a signature. There is no delivery to Northern Ireland, and dispatch pauses during extreme weather and over bank holiday weekends.
More about Gardening Direct
Gardening Direct is a trading name of You Garden Limited, which has its head office in Market Deeping near Peterborough. Plants are grown at the company's own 11-acre nursery in Lincolnshire, where a packhouse prepares orders for dispatch. The range spans seasonal bedding and hanging baskets, bulbs, perennials, climbers, shrubs and fruit trees, with plug plants sold in a choice of sizes and garden essentials such as compost alongside. eGift vouchers are available for gardeners who would rather choose their own plants, and the Gardeners' Corner blog offers growing advice. Customers can reach the support team by phone from Monday to Saturday.
